Victory Gallop's number one concern is finding appropriate horses that are safe and sound in order to provide its students with the best opportunity to learn.


The following guidelines help to determine whether a horse may or may not be suitable:

  1. Victory Gallop must be able to take the horse on a 30-day trial.
  2. Only geldings are considered for the program.
  3. Horse must pass a pre-purchase evaluation done by the farm veterinarian.
  4. Horse must be able to walk, trot and canter both directions of the ring in a safe and sound manner.
  5. Horse must cross-tie.
  6. Horse must be comfortable with someone leading them and people walking on either side.( biting at leaders is unacceptable)
  7. Ground manners must be pleasant and safe.
  8. Horse must be safe and quiet for trail use.
  9. Horse must be able to jump small fences safely and quietly.
  10. Horse must be comfortable with items placed around ring, on the ground and able to cope with increased levels of noise.
  11. Horse must have a negative coggins, be current on all vaccinations, provide program with worming record and previous medical history.

CASINO:   AKA "Mc Dreamy" is a beautiful bay warmblood imported from Russia.  He is very affectionate and loves attention.  He is 14 years old and stands around 16.1.   He is a big mover and always walks like he had somewhere important to go.  Before coming to Victory Gallop, Casino was a jumper and had successfully jumped a six foot high oxer!!!   He was also in the Panam American Games.

ROBBIE:  Robbie has been at Victory Gallop for 8 years. He is one of the true stars of our program.  Countless riders have taken their first trot and canter steps while riding this awesome equine.  His kindness and steadiness makes him as pleasure to ride. He is a 22 years old thoroughbred.  In 1999 & 2000, Robbie was selected to be the mount for Prince Albert of Monaco at the Pentathlons, held in Gates Mills.

NIKE:  He is a easy going guy that just goes with the flow.    He is also a Dutch warmblood and is 19 years old.  Before coming to Victory Gallop he was used as a show jumper.  His large size makes him a favorite amongst the kids.   He enjoys going on trail rides and thinks it is great fun to jump over the trotting poles during our jumping session.

CODY:  It is known around the barn for being the bounces horse to ride.  His trot will keep you laughing but it also helps to make your lower leg strong.  He is awesome on trail and enjoys playing all the games.    Cody is a Quarter Horse and only 11 years old.   His favorite friend is Casino.   The staff at Victory Gallop loves Cody because keeps his stall the neatest.

RUFUS:  He might be small but his personality is big.  He is wonderful for all our young riders.  He loves to trot and has been a huge help in teaching many of our riders how to canter.   He and Petie likes to be out in the pastures all day.   Even tough he acts tough, he enjoys being groomed and loves to jump.

SNOWDEN:  Know as Snowie here at the farm. Is a kind, big , gray Holsteiner who is 19 years old.  He is the newest addition to Victory Gallop.  He spent many years on the show curcit here in Ohio and Flordia.  Snowie and Petie have became great freinds and enjoy playing face tag when together.

MONTANA: The cadillac of the group, Montant is loved by all.  He is so comfortable to ride and is the sweetest guy around.  Some call him slow, but we perfer steady!! In his past life, he lived on a cattle ranch in Montana where he spent his days moving cows from Wyoming to Montanta.  Dr. Alessio,a vistor to the ranch fall  in love with this great horse and brought him to Ohio where they stay as partners until he came to Victory Gallop.
